What do you do when somebody elected to ensure checks and balances fails miserably? In such a circumstance are the perpetrators to the crime to be blamed or the lack enforcement by the watchdogs?
Well, if you are reading the above sentence in terms of a financial market scam - where greed and power are pretty much the primary motive - the accused would be the watchdog who was meant to regulate the perpetrators. But if you look at it from the point of view of Indian politics, suddenly the entire situation is changed and the perpetrators become the criminals and the watchdogs are heroes!
I can't understand how can BJP claim to have an higher moral ground than the deeply corrupt Congress, while they have been sleeping silently with them for years in the scam.
Seriously, what has BJP done in terms of showing its disenchantment with the present government Only thing that pops up in mind, is that they severely broke the parliamentary functioning with direct result of the entire nation getting hurt in that impasse. Apart from this counter-productive thing, BJP has done nothing that they should have done as a responsible watch dog opposition.
The moot question simply is: If BJP are such a lousy, weak and feeble opposition party, how can they lay their claim to govern people responsibly as a governing party?!
They can't. And any talk of high ground or victimization is total nonsense. This crying that we were helpless, does not cut the cake.
My prediction is simply this: BJP will be as bad a government as UPA was, probably even worse. Only exception I would make to this observation is that if Modi becomes a Prime minister.
And by deduction, India is screwed again - for four more years.
For all the bullshit surrounding Rahul, the bloke has got one thing perfectly well aligned, very well depicted by below cartoon.
